Sustainable Initiatives
On the ranch, we do our best to conserve energy and water.
Our guest house is equipped with a solar panel for energy. Low-energy bulbs and limited use of electricity help us minimize our carbon footprint when we need to run a generator.
We filter groundwater for our guests using two scientifically-tested processes ; the first uses sand and stone, the second ceramic. These all-natural filtration systems reduce our dependence on bottled water and make use of the locally available resources without the introduction of chemicals. Our guests are also conscious about their water usage, further assisting us with conservation efforts.
The vegetable garden and fruit trees in the courtyards provide fresh, organic produce for your stay. Similarly, all of the meat you eat on the ranch comes from the free-range farm animals raised on site. You can’t get much any local than that!
Lipiko works to keep the ranch free of trash and promote a safe environment for the abundance of wildlife. We remove inorganic waste from the site after every visit and educate the residents about the impacts of littering.
We encourage you to ask about the sustainable initiatives of any tour operator you choose. Especially in sensitive ecological areas like the pampas and rainforest, it is imperative that businesses are acting responsibly to help preserve these areas for future generations.
